Method and assumptions
Counts update as you type. A word is a whitespace-separated token containing a letter or digit. Characters count Unicode code points, so combined emoji can contain multiple characters. Sentences use . ! ? boundaries; paragraphs use blank lines. Reading time = word count ÷ your selected reading speed; it is an estimate.
